Upward Adventist School is Growing Call Now For 2017-2018! Space is Limited!
Cheri Jenkins became a teacher for a very simple reason- she wanted to make a difference. While there are many fields in which to accomplish this goal, she felt that education is the one in which she can have the greatest impact.
Cheri graduated from Southwestern Adventist University with a BS in Education. She has been teaching for 23 years ranging in grades from preK-8th grade. Her favorite years have been in a small school teaching multi grades.
Her goal is to make each student feel of utmost importance and taking into consideration that each student has their own unique needs, learning styles and experiences.
Cheri also believes while it is imperative to provide academic stimulus it is also most important to trust in God’s help to reveal through her the love of Jesus. If Cheri can encourage her students to trust God in an everyday go-to “I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me” approach to life then she will have accomplished what she hopes by teaching at Upward Adventist School.
We offer a scholarship called PFE through Southern Adventist University. Students visit a senior mentor each week for one hour. This is beneficial for both student and senior mentor as they learn from and help each other. They build lasting relationships that will last a lifetime.
